Recap of a Fabulous Night! Thank you Guests and Sponsors!

July 29th was an exceptionally warm evening. The pool was sparkling, drinks were flowing and everyone was having a great time. Lisa Nickerson and over 150 friends celebrated at a private party held poolside at Hotel Indigo.

Caitlin McDonough, Katy Lengel, Michelle Babai, Venisse Wu, Lisa Nickerson, Jennifer Kearney, Monica Mercer, Rachel Licciardi, Nataliya Ohorilko

Partygoers could be seen dancing to Best Not Broken’s live cover performances (including Tom Petty’s American Girl, The Killers’ Mr. Brightside, and Bryan Adams’ Summer of ’69), relaxing under cabanas and chatting with fellow guests. Passed hors d’oeuvres including mini sliders, crab cakes and lobster fritters were a big hit and made their way around the party throughout the evening. Inside, there was a buffet including tortellini, pasta with meat sauce, Caesar salad and a great assortment of breads. Complimentary Nickerson red martinis also added to the lively atmosphere.

At the peak of the party, all guests sang “Happy Birthday” as Lisa Nickerson cut into the delicious chocolate cake.  Another highlight of the night was when Lisa pulled the winning raffle ticket for the all expenses paid trip to Caesar’s Palace. Nickerson PR would like to congratulate raffle winner, Laurie Spitz, from Smileboston!

Everyone at Nickerson PR had a fabulous time and we would once again like to thank all of our guests for attending and supporting Housing Families Inc. with your generous donations to the Rodman Ride for Kids.

We would also like to give special appreciation to all of our sponsors:

Best Not Broken to Perform at the 2nd Annual Team Nickerson Fundraiser!

On July 29th, the 2nd Annual Team Nickerson Rodman Ride for Kids Fundraiser and Lisa Nickerson’s birthday party is taking place at Hotel Indigo Boston-Newton Riverside from 6:00 to 8:30pm!

We are also very excited to announce that the rock cover band, Best Not Broken, will be performing! Their motto, “rock outside the box,” guarantees that this night will be filled with great live music and entertainment.

Eric Jackson, the leader singer for Best Not Broken and a good friend of Lisa’s, sings vocals and plays the guitar for his band. Jackson is joined by three other band members: Scott – bass guitarist, Danny – drummer and vocalist and Brian – keyboardist. According to Best Not Broken’s website, they have been busy producing music and preparing for several upcoming shows this summer in New Hampshire, New York and Massachusetts. Earlier this summer, they performed at the Boston Common, as well as Hawk Jam 2010 at St. Anselm College alongside top recording artists, Matthew Nathanson and Jason DeRulo. Additionally, Best Not Broken was also voted one of the region’s top two bands in the 2010 Hippo Press Reader’s Poll for the second consecutive year.

We cannot wait to hear Best Not Broken play!

Simply awesome!

From 1000awesomethings.com

Ever have one of those really rough days? You know the kind I’m talking about. Those days where you’re stuck behind the school bus and you’re already late to work, you spill coffee all over yourself right before your big interview, your computer crashes five minutes before the big meeting…

or just one of those days where you wish it was 5:00 on Friday.

Introducing 1000 Awesome Things, a site dedicated to one awesome thing a day. Created in June 2008, it’s been counting down to the #1 awesome thing ever since – and a book was published in April 2010 of some of the most “awesome” things from the site. It can be anything awesome, from locking people out of cars and pretending to drive away to hanging out with your mom (love this one!) to snow days.

1000 Awesome Things is the perfect way to brighten your day by reminding all of us that the small things in life – those little things we tend to forget about – are the best distraction to our rougher times. So, the next time you’re in traffic in the pouring rain, maybe your wipers will sync with the beat of your music – which is pretty darn awesome.
