It’s that time of year again…

…to support the Rodman Ride for Kids and Housing Families Inc.!

Now in its 20th year, the Rodman Ride for Kids is a 25, 50, or 100-mile bike ride to support at-risk children in Massachusetts. Last year, 25 charities participated in the event, and $7.2 million was raised for the various organizations. 100% of any donation made supports all 25 affiliated child welfare agencies. Every donation provides an additional 10% matching gift to participating agencies to exceed fundraising goals.

This year Nickerson PME will be riding as Team Nickerson for Housing Families Inc. Housing Families Inc. (HFI), founded in 1986, is devoted to ending family homelessness in the communities of Everett, Malden, and Medford. Over 1,450 families have been helped since their creation 24 years ago. Each day, they help 400 homeless and extremely low-income individuals; 75% of these individuals are children.

HFI focuses on the needs of all family members through individualized support services, with additional and unique concentration on children aided by the organization. Through their Children and Family Program, children receive one-on-one counseling, academic support and tutoring, therapeutic arts groups, and parent groups. The wonderful staff, interns, and volunteers at Housing Families Inc. help children and their parents develop skills, self-esteem, and confidence.
